MOS Tourism Mr. Alphons presents Namaste Shalom awards to Photo-Journalists

Alphons lauds increasing Indo-Israel tourism – “Sky is the limit”.

New Delhi, 30th July 2018: Lauding the role of media in helping to increase the Indo-Israel tourism, MOS Tourism Shri K.J. Alphons presented prestigious Namaste Shalom magazine awards to the winners of “Netanyahu in India photo-contest”.

He said that India and Israel are the two closest countries since ages. After Prime Minister Modi’s Israel visit, Indian tourist traffic to Israel has increased manifold.

Further, the Hon’ble minister awarded senior photojournalists for their best photo coverage during Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit in February this year. The award winners are as follows:

  1. Sh. Amit Dave     (PTI) First Prize
  2. Sh. Nandan Dave (Freelance) Second Prize
  3. Sh. Shirish Shete  (Thomson Reuters)- Highly Appreciative Prize
  4. Sh. Partha Sarkar  (Xinhua)- Special Mention
  5. Sh. Hemant Joshi  (Freelance)- Special Mention

On this occasion, the Ambassador of Israel Mr. Daniel Carmon, Israel’s Deputy Chief of Mission Ms Maya Kadosh, Chief Editor of Namaste Shalom magazine Shri Tarun Vijay, Chairman of Bene Israel Research Centre Mr. Ralphy Jhirad, senior photo-editors and jury members Mr Sondeep Shankar and Mr Mukesh Agrawal were also present.

Ambassador Daniel Carmon said that today is his last working day in India and it is great to see that India-Israel relations are growing from strength to strength each day.
